Loubet Cabernet

loubet15medThe Napa Valley and St. Helena, due to warm climes and fertile soil, provide the finest growing conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon in California.

The 2003 through 2005 growing seasons provided Cabernet Sauvignon grapes an ideal environment.

Early rains and cool weather, followed by very warm months, produced intense fruit with great balance to the finish.

Winemaker Art Finkelstein personally oversees the hand harvesting, sorting and selecting of only the finest of these grapes before conducting to small batch, open top fermenters. The fermenting must is then punched down by hand several times a day for about 10 days. After a light to medium pressing, the wine is then aged for 20 months in new French oak barrels before bottling.grps1

2005CabLbl

2005 Vintage

The 2005 Loubet Cabernet is my third release. The 2003 is sold out and the 2004 has been quite well received by stores, restaurants, friends, family and general customers. The 2005 is considered one of the top Cabernet Sauvignon vintages in this 21st century in the Napa Valley and ’05 Loubet Cabernet is no exception. This is a full bodied wine like the prior two releases. It is an intense, complex and well structured wine with the fragrance of black currants, smoke, and black cherry with a long finish. Like the prior two releases though, it is drinkable now and it will age extremely well over the next 5-10 years. Enjoy!.

2004 Vintage

Here is an opulent, full-bodied wine with layers of complexity revealing
flavors of rich black currants and hints of elegant French oak complemented with aromatic nuances of dark, ripe fruit and tobacco. The grapes are from the lower flank of Howell Mountain in St. Helena and the luscious intensity of this hillside fruit will do well with a few years of bottle age.

FinalLABEL

2003 Vintage

This wine has exquisite depth and structure, which is a delight on the palate with a long, clean finish. The up-front fruitiness of the grape, soft, elegant tannins and a hint of toasty oak make this a very accessible wine easily enjoyed now or in 5-10 years from now.

Loubet Cabernet is releasing a limited edition of 250 bottles of our 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon. But next year Loubet Cabernet will be releasing 1400 bottles and will invite everyone to the first ever Loubet Cabernet Wine STOMP event. It’s going to be a great time!

Olive Oil

Maxmaxsoil2 Olive Oil
I am excited to present the first release of my Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Named after my son Max, this is one of the earliest productions of Napa Valley olive oil, a region which is only recently gotten on the map for olive oil production. The olives are grown on the 300 trees on my property. The olives are Arbequina and Arbosana from Spain and Koroneiki form Greece. These cultivars, blended together give a balanced olive oil with the appropriate amount of fruitiness, pungency and bitterness to create a first class olive oil.

The olive orchard is fully organic and cultivated sustainable with the personal care and attention of one of California’s top olive ranch managers, Maria Milagros Castro. Extra Virgin Olive Oil comes from the first pressings of the olives and contains high levels of antioxidants, particularly vitamin E and phenols because it is less processed.

The olive oil is processed at the latest production plant in Petaluma, California. The bottles are beautiful handcrafted from Italy. The label designer is Joyce Romano, a well known artist and graphic designer from Redondo Beach, California and my friend way back to high school in Irvington, New Jersey.

The olive oil sells for $25 per bottle. Use the same form used in ordering wine. Enjoy the oil! Thank you for your patronage.
